90th Anniversary

Jayce 90th Anniversary

The Jaycee Creed

We Believe:

That faith in God gives meaning and purpose to human life;

That the brotherhood of man transcends the Sovereignty of Nations;

That economic justice can best be won by free men through free enterprise;

That government should be of laws rather than of men;

That Earth's great treasure lies in human personality;

And that service to humanity is the best work of life.

- W. Brownfield

A "fabulous prize" will be awarded to the chapter collecting the most donations. Please see the list below for suggested donation items. Any questions about Stocking for Soldiers please contact Illinois Jaycees Program Management VP, Gretchen Bernardini.

2010 Relay For Life
The 2010 Relay For Life program is in full swing! Register your team today and start your fundraising efforts!

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature activity. It offers everyone in a community an opportunity to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park, or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are an overnight event, up to 24 hours in length.

The United States Junior Chamber is a national partner of the Relay for Life program and each chapter is encouraged to participate in their local Relay.

Birdies for Charity
It is that time of the year to get the Birdies for Charity project underway. This is a great fundraiser to help the Illinois Jaycees and the local chapters make some money. It is a very easy project to do. Just need to get people to pledge .01 or more, turn in the pledge forms and that is it. The John Deere Charitable Foundation will send out all the billings after the Golf Tournament is over with letting you know how much you owe.

Our goal is to double the chapters that was involved last year. We had 5 chapters that are signed up in 2009.

Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation

While you're mapping out your year, please consider working with the Illinois Jaycee Charitable Foundation. Are there businesses in your community who would like to make a major contribution to your efforts? Write up a plan (cpg) and get the Foundation involved so we can help! We are a registered not-for-profit organization and we're an affiliate of the Illinois Junior Chamber of Commerce. Our purpose is to support the Illinois Jaycees!

Corporations and individuals want to make tax deductible gifts to the Jaycees,but most chapters aren't a 501(c)3. That's where we come into the picture!

Leadership Academy & Training Programs

No matter what town, general meeting or committee meeting you would visit, you will quickly come to learn that the Illinois Jaycees centers itself around its leadership training.

Many local area leaders in your home town may have participated as Members at one point in time - business leaders, political leaders, and more. The reason they went on to become leaders is certainly due to their own competencies, and part of that knowledge likely came from their experience in the Jaycees. In Jaycees, people learn many skills they might otherwise never acquire, such as budgeting, decision-making, organizational and motivational skills, to name a few.

The singular most important training program Jaycees offer is simple: How to run an effective project.
