February 1st, 2012

Are you ready to make an IMPACT in 2012?!?  If you attended the keynote presentation at the January 2012 GA, then you might have gotten some fantastic prizes!

You definitely got some great information from keynote speaker Chaffee-Thanh Nguyen!  He talked about the Jaycee Mission and Vision, tribal marketing, and how to create a chapter of RAVING fans that are excited, energized, and ready to make an IMPACT!

Chaffee shared some fantastic documents which are now uploaded to the Illinois Jaycee website.  Make sure you download these guides and use them to help grow your chapter!   They are jam packed full of powerful information to help you recruit, train, and activate your members.  Here are links to the download pages:

UN Millennium Development Goals

January 25th, 2012

The Illinois Jaycees along with the US Jaycees have adopted the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) as its public policy platform for 2012.

The MDGs are 8 ambitious goals set by the United Nations to address some of the most pressing needs of the United States and the World.

These include:

  1. Ending Poverty and hunger
  2. Universal Education
  3. Gender Equality
  4. Child Health
  5. Maternal Health
  6. Combat HIV/AIDS and other diseases
  7. Environmental Sustainability
  8. Global Partnership

In achieving these goals we will not only help ourselves, but will also make an IMPACT in the world.

JCI Japan – Help Is On The Way

March 16th, 2011

As we experience the tragedies unfolding in Japan through radio, television, and internet, I am saddened to see and hear all the devastation that has happened thousands of miles away.  My hearts go out to the residents of Japan and our JCI family overseas, and my condolences and sympathies are with the survivors as they grieve for the losses of loved ones.

Past JCI World President, Scott Greenlee, states, “many of the members of JCI Sendai have lost everything and some are even still unaccounted for.  The town is the home of the 2007 JCI Treasurer, Tak Goto, who is the current Foundation Chairman, a great friend, and one of the most generous people I know.  I was pleased to get a message from him that he is physically ok, but as noted, several of their members are not accounted for at this time.”

I encourage you to Step Up and use your Jaycee skills in fundraising for a fellow JCI country suffering from the worst destruction since World War II.  JCI Japan needs our help.  Just like when we rally around a family in our community that needs assistance to pay the bills or fix their home, it is our turn to give back for fellow Jaycees, albeit ones that are quite far away from our own hometown.
