Camp New Hope Clean Up and State Camp Out

Join fellow Illinois Jaycees to help get Camp New Hope ready for Summer Camp at the Annual Spring Clean Up on Saturday May 19th.  We assist cleaning up the trails, cabins and whatever else may be done so the camp is ready to serve it special needs campers.

 

The Decatur Jaycees have stepped up to host this is our “State Camp Out” Weekend in conjunction with Camp New Hope Cleanup Day May 18-20th.  We will once again be staying on-site at the CNH Respite Center so everyone can sleep in real beds and have access to indoor showers and bathrooms.  The Decatur Jaycees are great cooks and you will not go hungry.  As with any Jaycee project, it is not only work but a great time.  See attached flyers for more information on the meal plan and costs if you participate in the Camp Out.

Fall General Assembly

Are you ready for the next Illinois Jaycees General Assembly?

 

We are starting to plan the Fall GA and want you there. It will be held September 7-9, 2012 at the Four Points Sheraton in Fairview Heights, IL. We are offering a early registration incentive for all registrations turned in before July 4th. The incentive will be announced in the next few weeks and the winner will be announced July 11th. So get your registrations in early to be eligible for the drawing.  Keep an eye on your email and Facebook for further information as we get more things planned. The Outstanding Young People of Illinois for 2012

This is the 47th year that the Illinois Jaycees have selected and honored outstanding young people from throughout the state of Illinois. This year’s TOYP Honors Program was  held on Saturday, May 12th at the Springfield Hilton in conjuction with the Illinois Jaycees’ Spring General Assembly Meeting.

Congratulations to the following individuals selected as the Ten Outstanding Young People of Illinois for 2012:

•Renee Charles (38) – Metamora – Director of Public Affairs & Media Relations nominated by The Heartland Partnership

•Yonas Hagos (29) – Plano – Franchisee nominated by Hoffman Estates Jaycees

•Amy Hoose (40) – Danville – Sales and Staffing Firm Area Manager nominated by Danville Housing Authority

•Adam Kinzinger (33) – Manteno – US Congressman nominated by Kankakee Jaycees

•Aaron Meador (36) – Maroa – Store Manager nominated by Youth Workshop Ministries

•Michael Pruitt (29) – Round Lake – Entrepreneur nominated by GMLV Jaycees

•Sarah Schrempf (39) – Crystal Lake – Mental Health Professional nominated by Crystal Lake  Jaycees

•Joseph Sharpe (28) – Peoria – President, Sharp Payroll nominated by Peoria Jaycees

•Jeff Turner (38) – Elgin – Business Owner nominated by Elgin Jaycees

•Stephanie Wilson (25) – Clifton – Cosmetologist nominated by GiGi’s Playhouse

Recipients were judged on how they have exemplified themselves in one or more of the following fields of endeavor: personal improvement or accomplishments; financial success and economic innovation; social improvement to major contemporary problems; philanthropic contribution or voluntary service, politics or government service, scientific or technical contributions, legal reform; cultural achievement; academic leadership or accomplishment; moral and religious leadership; athletic accomplishment; and success in the influence of public opinion.

Also, in determining the recipients of this recognition, the judges give particular consideration to each nominee’s record of adherence to the principles embodied in the Jaycee Creed. This event is generously supported by friends and employers of our award winners, local and regional Jaycee organizations, JCI Senate organizations and Illinois businesses and corporations.
